If the World Trade Center buildings had not collapsed would the people above the crash zone of survived?

If the buildings had not collapsed would it of been possible to put the fire out and save people above the crash zones? And would the people of survived or died to too much smoke?

I would say that most of the people who weren`t already killed from the planes had a good shot of surviving,that is a firefighters first priority,life safety.
they were bringing hand lines up(hoses)and would have knocked down most of the fire so everyone could have gotten out. they would have made sure,one way or another.
not to mention there were other stairways that people were in and were on their way down when it collapsed. that is what also makes it so horrible,people were going down the stairs when it collapsed and the firefighters were on their way up.
but obviously some would have succumbed to the smoke and fire.
I think that is why most were told to go to the roof.so the firefighters could have put the fire out,then people would have been led out.
