Tama Imperialstar 8 piece double bass drum set?
Are the heads that come with this drum set any good?
Is the hardware that comes with this drum set any good?
Are the cymbals that come with this drum set any good?
Is this an ideal drum set for playing any type of heavy metal?
Should i eventually replace the heads with Remo or Evans?
Should i eventually replace the cymbals with Zildjian or Sabian?
1) no, the stock heads are usually very cheap and just put on there for you to use until you upgrade
2) the hardware is probably decent. it wont be great, because the imperialstar is a beginner set. probably single braced stands which are fine, but the double braced would be better suited for a heavy hitter and loud music.
3) no, the cymbals will be bottom of the line and sound like crap.
4) yes its a good set for metal. but i would suggest to scale it down a little bit. sacrifice some of the pieces for a higher quality set. maybe go with the rockstar or a superstar and get a 5 or 6 piece set. but the imperialstar should be fine.
5) you will probably want to replace the heads ASAP. batter anyways, the resonant head is probably fine. i personally prefer evans, but the choice is up to you. remo makes good and popular heads as well.
6) yes, you will want to upgrade your cymbals at some point. i prefer sabian to zildjian, but use paiste myself.
