Snare Drum Buzzing?
I know that when the snare drum is buzzing when i hit toms etc its because there at the same pitch, my problem is that i love having my snare heads both top and bottom tightened really tight for that nice high crack. My other toms and bass drum are tuned to where i like them its just my snare wont stop buzzing, i've changed heads about a million times and have tuned the other drums lower but it wont stop, any suggestions or head combinations that might stop it. Right now i have a Remo coated Emperor on the top and a Remo ambassador on the bottom thanks.
You are correct the buzzing is caused by sympathetic resonance. That is the snare head is resonating with one or more of your toms.
Sometimes this works to alleviate snare buzz. Detune the 4 bottom lugs that are adjacent to the snare wires. They just need to be loosened a bit to reduce the sympathetic resonance. It should not significantly change your snare's sound.
Also, ensure that you have a Remo "Ambassador Snare" head on the snare side and not just a standard Ambassador.
Check out this the "Drum Tuning Bible." It has all kinds of info on getting the sound you want.

Good Luck.
