SALTWATER FLYFISHERMAN. I've got some questions about catching RED DRUM (REDFISH) and SPECKLED TROUT?
I'm thinking about getting into flyfishing. I'm having a good time with my baitcaster and spinning rods, but I just want to try something new out. So I was wondering...
Does it matter how deep the water is to catch a Red Drum and Trout, or is it just shallow water?
Does my line need to be a sinking or floating line?
What kind of stuff should I be looking for in a rod and reel?
Got any recommendations for a good rod, reel, and tackle?
Is there any other SALTWATER fish that can be caught inshore?
You know it's just some things google can't tell me. Personally I'd rather go to the horses mouth. Thanks for your time.
Im not a flyfisherman but I do fish inshore for Reds and trout. they can both be found in anywhere from 6in to 8 ft of water. you may also catch some jack crevalle or spanish macs. It depends on where you are located. snook, tarpon, black drum, and bonefish are also possabilities.
